Meet the Conductor
Ettrup Art
Meet the Conductor provides a contemporary yet comprehensive presentation of the conductor’s universe first published in Danish in 2007. An English translation has recently been completed and will hopefully soon be published.
In order to attract as wide an audience as possible, Meet the Conductor not only appeals to the traditional conducting student, but also to the committed general reader.
The Danish press wrote: “A pioneering effort,” “Entertaining and well written,” “A brilliant work of information which I highly recommend,”
and:
“Ettrup Larsen’s well-written book brings to mind the popular, classical presentations of Leonard Bernstein from way back when. But Ettrup’s explanations and reflections, examples and considerations are both more profound and more comprehensive than those of the long-gone maestro and music-pedagogy guru”.
