Peter Ettrup Larsen is an internationally renowned, Danish conductor. Larsen’s repertoire ranges from the classical symphonic repertoire over opera and ballet to the more rhythmical genres. Shortly before the international Corona lockdown Larsen was offered the position of music director at The Cairo Opera in Egypt. Due to the corona situation the signing is still pending.
Parallel tracking his active conducting career, Larsen has always devoted part of his time to teaching his trade. He frequently gives master classes all over the world, and held a position as tenured faculty at The Sibelius Academy, Finland (2010-2016).
Larsen graduated in conducting from The Sibelius Academy (1993) and later, as the first conductor ever, obtained a doctoral degree in symphonic conducting from the same institution (2015.) He also has a diploma (M.A.) in clarinet playing from The Royal Danish Academy of Music (1991) and a master’s degree in musicology and rhetoric from The University of Copenhagen (1994.)
